Yoga
Yoga means union. The congregation of mind, body, spirit and heart. Through the Shoo In Yoga program, you will improve your posture, movement and body control. Learn how to self-regulate your internal response to stress through breathing and regain balance between mind and body.
Modules
Module 1: Hips and Hamstrings
This module will provide a series of yoga poses to improve flexibility and provide relief from tension for the lower body, particularly the hips and hamstrings.
Module 2: Energiser Class
This class alleviates common pain that arises from desk work. This module will provide you with techniques to increase energy and reduce fatigue, improving concentration and focus.
Module 3: Good Posture
This class will improve your flexibility. Flexibility will assist in building muscle strength, improving your posture, prevent cartilage and joint disintegration and increase bone health.
Module 4: Embracing the Change
Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.
Module 5: Out of Your Comfort Zone
With everything that happens once you move out of your comfort zone; you’re naturally going to achieve more than ever before. Your increased concentration and focus will help you develop new skills. Those new skills will change the way you see yourself, encouraging you to step even further out of your comfort zone.
Module 6: Expressing Gratitude
Opening your mind and heart to gratitude opens doors to new and/or improved relationships, improves your mental and physical health. It reduces aggression by increasing empathy for others and, most importantly, yourself.
Module 7: Playing the Edge
Sensing where your edges are and learning to hold the body there with awareness, moving with its often-subtle shifts, can be called “playing the edge.” This is a large part of what you’ll be doing in your practice and what we will be focusing on throughout this module.
Module 8: Practicing Non-attachment
Non-attachment is a highly beneficial state of mind in all fields of life, and in our relationship with people, possessions and even our own physician body. Learn how to detach from these aspects of life through breathing and attention.
Module 9: Being Yourself
Being yourself means you like who you are. Being yourself means living life how you want to live it, regardless of other people’s opinions. It means to not only respect yourself, but to be proud of who you are.
Module 10: Balance
In this module we will focus on balance, not just in a physical sense, but internal balance, as well. It is important to understand what balance is, and how it feels to you, so you can be aware of when you are feeling centered, or unbalanced. You can then regain control and ground yourself through your thoughts and breath.
