ABOUT

Managing Conflict at Work

Conflict occurs when people’s ideas, decisions or actions relating to work are in opposition. The purpose of this program is to allow teams to create better cohesion and collaboration during high-pressure situations and to be able to develop best practices in response to the demands of workplace interactions.

Modules

Module 1: Verbal Communication Techniques

In this session we will introduce you to the concept of verbal communication, the various layers involved and how to become more aware of how it is used. This will help you to create best practices towards interpersonal communication and workplace harmony. Allowing there to be better working relationships, productivity and efficiency with regards to teamwork.

Module 2: Non-Verbal Communication Techniques

In order to understand non-verbal communication, it is useful for team members to tap into an awareness of what yourself and others around may be demonstrating. Without this skill it can be easy to miss important indicators that can impact how team members are relating to each other.

Module 3: Working With Reluctance

Reluctance is defined as an approach that proceeds from a mindset that is unwillingly inclined. When a person is reluctant it can be hard to have them become engaged in a course of action. Understanding and creating a better relationship with reluctance can be an opportunity to move towards new learning and new strengths for individuals or teams.

Module 4: Working With Resistance

Resistance is defined as a refusal to accept or comply. If there is resistance, it can be difficult for individuals and teams to move towards productivity, as the prospect of facing what comes seems impossible. Creating a compassionate awareness to resistant behaviour creates an opportunity to move forward for individuals and teams.

Module 5: Positive Reinforcement

In this session I will introduce you to the concept of positive reinforcement, the various layers of this language and how to facilitate its impact in workplace communities.

Module 6: Delivering Feedback (Negative Reinforcement)

In this session I will introduce you to the concept of negative reinforcement, the various layers of unhelpful language and how to become more aware of the impact of your words in workplace communities.

Module 7: Growth Mindset

A Growth mindset approach can increase the probability of optimal outcomes. Even in the toughest of situations, it sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence or lack of skills, but as a springboard or way to stretch both the individual and teams capacity. Introducing growth mindset thinking means that no matter how something turns out, progress never stops.

Module 8: Repair Relationships

Rupture in the workplace shifts team wellbeing, creativity and performance. They can however provide an opportunity to make relationships stronger than it was before, leading to better teamwork and performance. Without repair there can be no sustain of workplace ecosystems.
